Dr. Michael Prince at DABC’s AGM
On Saturday, June 23, 2018 DABC had its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Croatian Cultural Centre.
This year we were delighted to welcome as our guest speaker Dr. Michael Prince, PhD.
Michael Prince is a political scientist and disability rights advocate. He teaches at the University of Victoria where he is the Landsdowne Professor of Social Policy. He commended DABC for all the work we have done in the province and encouraged us to push forward and continue to make sure the voices of people with disabilities are heard in all sectors. His talk was inspiring and honest and we were grateful to have him come all the way from Victoria for our AGM.
The Honourable Shane Simpson, Minister of Social Development and Poverty Reduction, also had a few words for the members of DABC. He congratulated DABC and especially Jane Dyson, DABC’s Executive Director, for all her years of hard work advocating to improve the lives of people with disabilities.

Thank you to all our volunteers, members, staff and Board for coming out to the AGM and supporting us throughout the year.
