Letter to Minister Qualtrough re: financial impact of COVID-19 on people with disabilities
DABC wrote to the Honourable Carla Qualtrough, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Disability Inclusion, detailing our concerns about the financial impact of COVID-19 on people with disabilities. We are calling for emergency supports for people receiving CPP-D, as well as accommodations during the pandemic related to the Disability Tax Credit and the RDSP.

Federal supports announced for post-secondary students and recent graduates
We are very pleased to see this morning’s announcement of the new federal supports for post-secondary students and recent graduates, with additional funds for students with disabilities. Supports include $1250 per month for eligible students, and $1750 for eligible students with disabilities or dependents, available from May to August 2020.
For more information on this morning’s announcement, see here:

As the federal government works to address gaps in emergency supports, we also hope to see additional financial supports for people who receive CPP-D benefits.
