Disability Alliance BC was pleased to welcome Minister of Social Development and Poverty Reduction Shane Simpson yesterday to help us celebrate the U.N. International Day for Persons with Disabilities. We were proud to announce the 16 projects that will receive funding to promote greater accessibility in BC!
DABC is hosting an online Holiday Auction, which will run from Friday, November 30th at 12:00 pm to Tuesday, December 18th at 12:00 pm. All funds raised by this auction will go toward DABC’s programs and services benefitting people with disabilities. All of the people we help live on very low incomes and many are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Statistics Canada has released the results of the 2017 Canadian Survey on Disability.
“The CSD is the main source of data on disabilities for those aged 15 years and over. For the 2017 survey, new questions were designed to ensure better overall coverage of persons with disabilities, especially for persons with disability types that are less visible, such as mental health-related and cognitive disabilities.”
