Accessibility Project Grant 2018 Winner, Victoria Disability Resource Centre’s Disability Awareness Training Program!

Are you a local employer in Victoria area and interested in receiving this free 2-hour disability awareness training session?

By working together, employers will learn about how to successfully recruit, hire and support people with disabilities in the workplace.

DABC will be participating in The Africa Great Lakes Society’s annual Pan-African Carnival, which is taking place from August 23-25 at various locations around Vancouver (https://www.panafricancarnival.co).

This year’s theme is “Mental Health”. On the 23rd of August, prominent mental health experts – including B.C. Minister of Mental Health and Addiction Judy Darcy – will be joining us at the seminar to explore how cultural disparities within diasporic and indigenous communities provide challenges to mental health and the community’s well-being.

This conference aims to provide attendees with an understanding of how to develop social connections and nurture a sense of communal belonging through the co-existence of cultural diversity and mental health.
