The Council of Canadians with Disabilities (CCD) is seeking an individual to fill the position of National Coordinator.
The ideal candidate for this position must have an impressive track record of leadership through extensive experience in senior management positions within government or the not-for-profit sector; must be self-motivated with strong communication skills and be computer literate. Ability to communicate in both official languages is an asset.
This position reports to the Council via the Chairperson of CCD with direction from the Executive and National Council.
The National Coordinator provides current background information to the Executive Committee, Board and Sub-Committees of CCD on a wide range of policies and issues impacting the lives of persons with disabilities, and is responsible for developing annual budgets and reporting to government and other funders as required.
The candidate for this position must also have had personal or professional experience with disability.

CCD’s National Office is located in Winnipeg, but through the use of technology, the successful applicant can reside outside of Winnipeg.

We have received the following notification from TransLink:
Starting February 26, 2015 and continuing until spring 2016, the elevator at Metrotown Station is out of service while we build three new elevators and the new Centre Stationhouse.
A HandyDART shuttle will operate approximately every 20 minutes between Metrotown and Patterson stations during the following hours:
o Monday to Friday: – 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
o Saturday: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
o Sundays & holidays: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Some passengers may want to use alternate travel modes to get to or from Metrotown Station during construction, including the bus. Click here for a full list of buses that service Metrotown Station.
For those that plan on taking SkyTrain, the walk between Metrotown and Patterson stations is 850 metres, or about a 10 minute walk.
