What are Allies in Accessibility?
Allies in Accessibility (AiA’s) are people who are passionate about advocating and working towards creating welcoming, accessible and affirming agencies that benefit im/migrant and refugees with in/visible disabilities and empower the community. This volunteer position recognizes the work that you are already doing in your community, gives you an opportunity to build your skills, contacts, and experience, and connects you with other people doing similar work across Canada.

Searching for government benefits that are relevant to you can feel like wading through a huge ocean of information. With so many benefits programs out there, it can be hard to know where to start.

Introducing the Benefits wayfinder, developed by national charity Prosper Canada and sponsored by TD Bank! The wayfinder is a simple, easy to use, plain language tool that helps you find and track benefits you could get. The information and resources provided are from federal, provincial, and territorial governments, updated on an ongoing basis as new information becomes available.

Tax AID DABC's partnership with Community Living Society (CLS) was a great success!

Disability Alliance BC (DABC)’s Tax AID DABC program and Community Living Society (CLS) formed a new partnership for the 2019 tax season.

CLS supports individuals with developmental disabilities or acquired brain injuries to live meaningful lives as full citizens.

The Tax AID program provided on-site tax filing services for CLS’s clients with disabilities, every Thursday from February 26 to April 25 at CLS’s headquarters in New Westminster.
