Letter to federal government requesting extension of DTC application deadline for $600 benefit eligibility
September 10, 2020 by DABC
This week we, along with BCANDS and Plan Institute, wrote to the federal government to request an extension to the fast-approaching September 25th deadline for new applicants to apply for the Disability Tax Credit in order to be eligible, if approved, for the $600 COVID-19 payment for people with disabilities. An extension would help ensure that the benefit reaches a greater number of the people it is intended to help.
Our letter also emphasized that any extension to the deadline should not cause further delays for those who are already eligible for the $600 payment.
