Minister Qualtrough announces proposed financial support for people with disabilities during COVID-19

Following the disappointing rejection of the proposed federal COVID-19 disability benefit last month, we are very glad to see Minister Qualtrough propose a new emergency benefit recognizing the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on people with disabilities. If approved, the proposed one-time $600 benefit would be available to a broader group than the rejected benefit, including holders of the DTC certificate, CPP-D recipients, and recipients of disability supports provided by Veterans Affairs Canada.
