What: A free workshop about Basic Budgeting
Where: Disability Alliance BC’s office at #204- 456 West Broadway in Vancouver
When: Thursday, May 28th from 1pm- 2pm

We will cover: what is a budget, why you should have a budget, and how to start and keep a budget. The workshop is for people receiving the Persons with Disabilities Benefit or for people who are living on low incomes. Staff and volunteers from community organizations are welcome to attend.

Online Forum On Violence and People with Disabilities – Be Part of the Discussion
DABC is hosting an online forum April 21-22 on people with disabilities and violence for Victims of Crime Awareness Week.
The online forum themes will include:
- Statistics on violence against people with disabilities in Canada
- What we’ve heard from people with disabilities during the InFocus national project
- Peer safety tips as well as safety planning from the Our Right to be Safe workshops
- What do service providers and government programs need to know – we want to hear from people with disabilities
- Service providers – challenges and promising practices
- Sharing information on services and resources in BC for victims of crime
